ELECTRICAL ENGINEER / SALES

We are seeking a skilled controls engineer to enhance the profitability and market share of Donald Engineering and our products through maintaining and increasing product sales. This consultative sales person will be aware of customers’ and prospects’ controls and fluid power requirements in order to seek out and follow through on all potential outside sales opportunities. S/He will provide technical support for electrical issues company wide. The successful candidate will have a Bachelors degree in Engineering, and at least 5 years experience working with controls in a related field.

OUTSIDE SALES

We are seeking outside sales representation to enhance the profitability and market share of Donald Engineering and our products through maintaining and increasing product sales. This consultative sales person will be aware of customers’ and prospects’ within an assigned territory, and will monitor their controls and fluid power requirements to seek out and follow through on all potential outside sales opportunities. JOB DESCRIPTION



POSITION TITLE: Electrical Engineer

REPORTS TO: Outside Sales Manager


BASIC FUNCTION: To enhance the profitability and market share of DE and our products through maintaining and/or increasing product sales. Stay abreast of customers’ and prospective customers’ controls and fluid power needs or requirements in order to seek out, enhance, and follow through on all potential outside sales opportunities. Ensure communication between DE and customers flows fluently, accurately and seamlessly in order to assure customer satisfaction.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Increase sales within assigned product groups – primarily electrical and controls
- Provide product management for all electrical components; develop new markets and provide electrical technical support throughout the company
- Maintain a high level of knowledge regarding DE line card products, product specifications and potential applications for customer presentation
- Maintain open communication with customers and potential customers regarding both their fluid power needs and electrical controls needs for current and future applications
- Prepare quotes and develop controls and fluid power circuits to meet customer requirements including CAD documentation as required
- Develop awareness and opportunities within market place for specified products; create demand for DE products and capabilities by generating interest in these products
- Educate sales staff to enhance their awareness of electrical products; provide demonstrations to internal or external audiences
- Attain and maintain certification through the Fluid Power Society and other professional organizations as necessary
- Constantly monitor and present ideas to increase and improve sales of DE product lines; participate in industry or sponsored trade shows
- Maintain highly confidential documents regarding customer costs, pricing and contracts
- Act as liaison with inside sales, outside sales and appropriate DE staff as required to promote sales
- Special projects as assigned, including but not limited to market research and education
- Make recommendations and suggestions that promote continuous improvement
- Follow all policies and procedures with request to company systems, practices and information sharing

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
· BS in Electrical Engineering
· 5 years experience in related business and industry, specific to electrical controls
· Sales experience strongly preferred
· Very strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills, demonstrable with electrical controls; specific knowledge of bus systems, stepper/servo/VFD motors, automation applications, feedback devices, and safety devices
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work in a team-oriented environment
· Strong organizational skills for quotes, documentation, time management, and prioritization
· Specific certifications from professional organizations (fluid power or electrical) desirable

- Act as liaison with internal or external audiences to promote sales
- Special projects as assigned, including but not limited to market research and education

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
· College degree preferred; will accept equivalent sales and/or technical experience applicable to the industry
· 5 years experience in related business and/or 5 years experience in consultative, industrial sales
· Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills demonstrable to all audiences
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work in a team-oriented environment
· Strong organizational skills for quotes, documentation, time management, and prioritization
· Specific certifications from professional organizations desirable
